The Last Tourist in Cairo is a project by Jan Rothuizen featuring hand-drawn maps of his walks in the city, photographs of clay portraits of him made by the local community, and a life-size photograph of the jacket he wore during his walks. Hand-drawn maps mimic the particular way we read cities as we wander through them, as an observer. Installed on the opposite wall, the clay portraits reflect on how he is observed as a foreigner in Cairo.
